The work of Nadia Barkate (Bilbao, 1980) refers to the space-time of drawing and its inertia. Approaching traditional techniques from a broad perspective also refers to the circulation between technique and desire, or perceptions of lucidity, hallucination, identity, interiority, and otherness. In his practice, a certain narrative will is very present that links what every day, the manual and the word.
He has recently exhibited in spaces such as: Galleria Nappa and Studio Mustanapa, (Rovaniemi, 2021) Lìtost Gallery (Prague, 2020), Bombón Projects (Barcelona, 2019), Westfälischer Kunstverein (Münster, 2019), Bilbao Fine Arts Museum (2018), Tabakalera (Donostia, 2018), Ethall (Barcelona, 2018), Alhóndiga (Bilbao, 2018), Carreras Múgica (Bilbao, 2015), Altes Finanzamt (Berlin, 2015), Espai 01 (Olot, 2012), Montehermoso (Gasteiz, 2010).
