Irma Álvarez-Laviada

Information

Graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Vigo, she lives and works in Madrid. Her work has been exhibited both in Spain and in the rest of Europe, as well as in Seoul, the US, Puerto Rico, or Mexico, the country in which he works with the Agustina Ferreyra Gallery. She has been awarded a scholarship by Cajastur, the Madrid Student Residence, or the Colegio de España in Paris. In 2012 she obtained the Scholarship of the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome and in 2014 the Scholarship of the Casa de Velázquez. In 2017 she received one of the eight scholarships for the development of artistic projects from the Marcelino Botín Foundation; Also this year, the French Ministry of Culture (Culturefrance) granted her a Residency scholarship at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.

 

During the last period, she has exhibited individually at the Luis Adelantado Gallery (Valencia), the RAC Foundation (Galicia), or the City of Culture of Santiago de Compostela (Galicia). She has recently exhibited at the Fundación Cerezales de León “The space between things” and has carried out a duo project with the artist Miren Doiz at the Rita Urso Gallery in Milan.

 

Her works can be found in different public and private collections such as the Pilar Citoler Collection, the DKV Collection, the Mariano Yera Collection, the Alhambra Beer Collection, the Ministry of Culture, AECID, the Masaveu Foundation, the Madrid City Council, the Talens Foundation, the Museum of Fine Arts. Arts of the Principality of Asturias, the Academy of Spain in Rome, the Berezdivin Collection of Puerto Rico, etc.
